As you may have already read in the news section under the navigation bar and by the Discord notifications, the next monthly NGF member chat will take place Sunday, June 6th, 2021, 8 PM (UK time / UTC+1) in the #text-chat channel of our Discord server!
Obviously since we are a global community, make sure to log in at the correct time (also considering daylight save time / summer time).

The High Score Medals are finally here:
If you are familiar with our old site, you surely recognize them: We finally brought back the Medals for participants of the High Score Challenges! This means that the Top 3 entries of each HSC thread will be given either a Gold, Silver or Bronze medal that will be displayed in the mini-profile and profile of the participant:
Gold medal
Silver medal
Bronze medal
The medals will be given or taken by the mods and admins after the according HSC score board was updated.
Nonetheless we mods / admins have agreed on some rules for the HSC medals:
1) Medals will only be awarded at earliest one month after the start of a particular High Score Challenge thread. From our experience the first few weeks of a HSC are quite competitive and by waiting a month this would keep the amount of work reasonable to update the medals. Also this would encourage participants to challenge each other even more in that hot phase. After that 1 month period we keep the medals updated on a best effort basis - please note that many mods / admins are doing their best already and aren't supposed to do 24/7 support.
2) Per standard we only award medals for the "standard" mode of a game or what is generally considered the default mode of a game. While most games of the Neo Geo library only have a standard mode anyway, we are aware that there are certain games in which their various modes are pretty different to each other (for example Fast Striker with its modes). Therefore we will make exceptions for certain games and enable different sets of medals for certain game modes. If you as a participant think another set of medals should be activated for a certain mode of a game, please write so in the according HSC thread. We mods / admins will then decide on that.
3) If you wish to opt out of the medals system but still want to participate in the HSCs, please just write that you don't want to receive any medals when you submit your score. This doesn't mean another member will receive your medal, but simply that your medal won't be displayed in your profile and mini-profile.
For the mods and admins (which are eligible to take or give medals to members) I put up a small tutorial in the mod section on how to do that.
Some of you may have noticed that I now awarded the medals for the default modes of High Score Challenges that are more or less one month old. All the others will be awarded at earliest one month later, as described above.
If you have any questions or wishes, please shoot.
As for everyone else, game on and rock those High Scores!
