This isn't meant to be a review of the game, but rather my experience of pre-ordering the Omega Edition (i.e. collector's edition).

Recap for those who didn't follow -- Omega Edition gives you the main game, a 119 pages art book, 3 separate lithographs featuring Iori, Mai, and Terry+Joe, soundtrack on 2 discs, and redeem codes for Garou Terry costume + Classic Leona + Team Pass 1. For US, this edition is available exclusively from Gamestop for US$90.

What's great

Art book was printed on heavy paper and felt high quality
Concept drawings in the art book were interesting -- more on this below
Omega Edition cost only $5 more than the digital deluxe edition, which had the same game content. For $5 extra, you get to keep all the physical goodies
PS4 disc lets you upgrade to PS5 digital version free of charge (as promised by SNK, I don't have a PS5)

What's not great

Soundtrack discs came in paper sleeves! I heard European versions got a proper hard case
Art book content was mostly taken up by each character's in-game portraits and their color palettes. I was hoping for more content that you wouldn't see in-game
Received my copy on 2/19, 2 days later than launch date. Gamestop didn't ship early and have it arrive on 2/17 as I'd hoped. Digital deluxe people got an early start on 2/14 I think. Paying more to get a late start wasn't a great experience.

This was the first time I either pre-ordered a game or bought the collector's edition. Would I do it again for another game? Maybe... only for SNK's flagship release.

A couple interesting findings

Several concept drawing of Isla shows her having half of her body corrupted, instead of a normal body with floating hands
A Dolores concept shows face marking similar to Xanadu (are they related? I haven't played through story mode)
In one of the lithographs, Terry's holding a drink labeled "Power Geyser". I wonder how that tastes.

Don't have a PS4 or PS5, the disc drive on my Xbox One is broken and I can't afford a Series S/Series X right now, so the only way I'm able to play it is Steam, which I'm not too keen on seeing as I don't care for PC gaming.

Loving it! I'm really liking the improvements to presentation over KOF 14... art style, sound effects, static visuals, etc.

There seems to be lots of details to find if you know where to look. For example, Antonov's ending makes a slight reference to Team Heroine's ending.

I don't play competitively so don't have insights into game mechanics, but the few hours I spent with it just "felt right" and reminded me of those peak KOF like 98 or 2002UM.

Good to hear you're liking it. I went in with lower expectations because I didn't want to be really disappointed but it feels like they nailed it.

The game looks way better in person and the Climax supers look awesome! I'm actually impressed with how this one looks.

I played a decent amount online, and I'm not very good but the net code was pretty cool. Overall having a lot of fun. Everything seems to play pretty well.

I'll have to check out Antonovs ending, they've been pretty decent so far and I think ive beat it with about 5 teams. Art of Fighting ending is my favorite so far.

Ever since SNK started reprinting its new games through by the AES "shock boxes" that were created specifically for the occasion, I got on this train and therefore completely ignored this unexpected GameStop manufactured edition (even though I've seen it bought by other people).

In case anyone is interested, I leave some small differences between this Omega USA edition with the European counterpart and the edition released with the Neogeo case.

For US, this edition is available exclusively from Gamestop for US$90.

Due to its differences in the materials sold and the reversible covers, the Pix'n Love edition was sold at a slightly more expensive price (99 € = 108.49 $), while GameStop sold it at a similar price for those living in the European zone, but which would inevitably have risen for those who would have ordered it from the United States (considering the exchange rate in dollars, the customs and the shipping costs [90.98 € = 99.7 $ + Customs taxes + Shipping]).

What's not great

Yes, it's true, the European edition provided by GameStop contained the soundtracks of this game inside a normal plastic case for music CDs: it has a black background and the game's logo printed on it (in an identical way to the art book you have), while the Pix'n Love edition is more fragile, because it's almost like a coupon, which however has the advantage of having a better cover, because it depicts Isla clutching her hat with the hands.

Received my copy on 2/19, 2 days later than launch date. Gamestop didn't ship early and have it arrive on 2/17 as I'd hoped. Digital deluxe people got an early start on 2/14 I think. Paying more to get a late start wasn't a great experience.

The European customers have already received their copy from GameStop and if it's any consolation, the buyers of Pix'n Love on the other hand have not yet received anything even at this time that I'm writing to you, because it is a type of material that is manufactured based on orders received, so it takes much longer than mass market companies like GS.

Also yes, that illustration of Terry and Joe is really divine and reminds me of their glory days of when "Fatal Fury" was really new and relevant.

Yes, that is an untranslated concept artwork from the art book. I didn't think much of it until now, but this would bother western audience, wouldn't it?

The character profile section of the art book was in English thankfully. The concept art and storyboard were not. Is European version different?

Well, if a product is sold as "premium" it would be better for it to be so even in the smallest details: also because to translate such short and simple sentences it did not cost much.

When I'll get this version I'll check it out, but making an example with the other material I bought, the art books are translated and the conceptual art instead has been completely cleaned up from the texts: unlike "The Art of Samurai Shodown", which is a big book with translated practically every written element that appeared inside (from the storyboards to notes for the designers) [the my version is a limited edition of 700 copies, because it has a cardboard box that acts as a packaging, but the content is exactly the same as the normal edition].
