So... to make a long story short; I remember playing a Shock Troopers like game on a Big Red cab when I was a very young kid. The thing is that Shock Troopers was released way too late (1997) to be the game I played.
Here are some things I remember ( could be non-factual):
- The game had a military theme. I remember the characters had guns.
- There was a jungle level.
Here are some of the facts:
- I definitely played the game in the years of 1990-1994. I know this for a fact, for various reasons.
- The game was a top-down shooter.
- I played it on a Big Red cab, it was coupled with Fatal Fury 2. I remember this because I usually played FF2 instead of this mystery game. I am 99% sure that I played it on a Big Red.
- I was impressed with the graphics ( they seemed to be state of the art). There was no way it was something like Ikari Warriors, as the graphics would be dated in the early 90's, plus I know the game I played was played with a 8-way joystick.
After reviewing the facts I can only come to the conclusion that the game must have been Ninja Commando. This is the only top-down shooter released for the Neo this early.
I highly doubt it was Ninja Commando, because I was all-about Ninjas at the time ( as most kids were) and I would have noticed and registered that the game was about Ninjas, not soldiers. Although I doubt it was Ninja Commando, it had to be ... I think. I guess it was just a case of bad memory.
Can anybody offer any insight to this? Maybe my memory of playing this on a NEO is false? That would be crazy, but not entirely impossible.
Anybody know of any other games (Neo or not) that fit the description? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
