Just an interesting little oddity I thought I would make a post about being a big music lover as much as I am a retro gamer. This collection was released in 1991 to benefit a charity called the Bobby Brooks Foundation. Track list and package and disc scans here. I've heard people say some pretty negative things about this collection based solely on its concept. The CD from what I understand was meant to serve as some kind of soundtrack album for the comic book that was included in the CD booklet. It's a bit of an unusual idea, but many of the songs on here aren't bad at all, with the only exception being the first track, which is just really cringe inducing. Believe it or not, this compilation produced an actual hit record, "I Drove All Night" by Roy Orbison:
And yes, that is a vinyl copy of the album playing in this video which is from my personal collection uploaded to my vinyl channel. I had no idea that it was even released on vinyl until sometime last year or sometime before January of 2020. The vinyl edition didn't get released in the US and I had to import it all the way from Portugal. It took almost an entire month to get here, and it was expensive, but it was worth it. This was just a few weeks before COVID-19 broke out too. As odd as this album is, owning a vinyl copy is pretty neat. This is a picture I took of it playing while I was filming the above video:
This is another song from the album I really like, "Into The Fire" by Alias, who also did "More Than Words Can Say", "Waiting For Love" and "Perfect World":
And here are two other songs from the record I filmed:
"She Was" by Flesh For Lulu, best known for the late 80's alt rock hits "I Go Crazy" and "Postcards from Paradise":
"Forever Friends" by Sheena Easton, which is the last song on the album. A nice way to close it off:
