Hey all. Posted elsewhere, but I figured this might be close to the hearts of plenty of people here too...
Had a few custom 'shock box' sleeves printed up for the mainline Metal Slug games that came after the MVS.
I've tried to stick strictly to the mainline games, and my lifetime goal (It used to have a much sorter timeline!!) is to 1cc all of them.
The custom sleeves are a fun thing to have as until the idea is picked elsewhere, they're unique.
All MVS carts came loose, aside from MS4 which I have as a kit.
I've got the arcade art set for MS6 too, but couldn't be arsed to dig it out to post, unless anyone is super interested to see it?
The foam is a little untidy, and [smention u=6936]Monstermug[/smention] has pointed me towards shadow foam for "that pro look", but I'm not sure that I'll actually open these cases enough times ever for that to be a worthwhile investment? I still might do it, not sure...
Fun thing about my copy of MS2...
The game is original
However, the OG ROM has been removed, and the PCB socketed
I use it with the original ROM, however I also have a ROM with the mighty [smention u=9207]trap15[/smention] 's 'Turbo' hack, so the hack can be played too but still on authentic hardware.
As the series is such a big deal to me, I've dedicated my six slot to it, and use the candy for everything else...
I did also recently purchase the AES style sleeves to try rather than the uniform grey sleeves I have for the rest of my MVS games, and I'm still not sure but I think I like them
Also picked up some of the better games that are clearly heavily inspired by Metal Slug
Dolphin Blue is fun, but not as good as people like to make out, Kraut Buster on the other hand is better than people like to give it credit for (I assume because of ill feeling towards NG Dev??).
The PCB is Demon Front, and the only reason I have the PCB rather than the cart is that it's cheaper! I may look to pick up the cart instead at some point.
The only things I think I'm really missing are the precursors... In The Hunt, Gunforce, Gunforce II (Geostorm).
Pricey to pick up all three, especially Geostorm, so I'm hoping to get hold of one of the forthcoming M92 multi's from the mighty [smention u=7616]darksoft[/smention] and pals.
Failing that, they'll have to go on the 'one day' list.
Am I missing anything else obvious relating to the mainline series??
