As a follow-up to my introduction; not just in the forums, but on Discord as well... it's high time that this was shown.
To give the gist about what is to come eventually... it's time for a bit of history. In 2004, back when I was in 4th Grade, a friend of mine thought up a video game from both of our school projects about rainforest animals--I did the Gecko while he did the Caiman. In the aftermath of both of our projects, he thought of something: a comic about a Caiman going up against a Gecko reveille--reminiscent of Donkey-Kong Country (not the TV Show, but the Games; this was before I discovered the VHS Legend of The Crystal Coconut). The two comics (alongside an unfinished third one) are considered "Lost Media" and I think for good reason; my art style hadn't reached it's peak yet, and the writing was pretty bad. Originally, the idea for said game was going to be for PlayStation 2, GameCube, Xbox, and PC as a 3D Platformer (what was considered "popular" during that period of time). Even though that friend of mine had moved out of town, I continued to nurture the idea--utilizing my brain more when developing the title. My Dad joined in, and wanted to help build a world around the characters who were created. Time passed, and I mainly spent my time playing on Game Boy Advance (a handheld that I was enamored with at the time). With 3D Platformers starting to wane in popularity, I looked to 2D as it is what most gamers were more comfortable with, and aged better.
By this point in time, The Neo itself had been discontinued; years passed as I was oblivious of it's existence until I entered my sophomore year of high school. Upon taking Media Design classes in vocational school (during my Junior and Senior years), something sparked in my cluttered head. Around this time, I discovered games like Gunlord, and Fast Striker: both new arrivals for the then-discontinued NeoGeo home and arcade systems! This is when Project Leviathan (named such as a "Great Beast") would start to materialize into a vague representation of what it is today. Also, during my three year tenure at College (Bachelor's in Multimedia Design Technologies), I also learnt about how to implement graphics for the Neo itself through the aid of Adobe Photoshop. After graduating High School, and College, that's where I unfortunately had to enter the workforce. To get the gears grinding, I kept studying graphics on top of how the NeoGeo itself worked... along with some other projects I wanted to make for other game systems. The chain was suited, and best catapulted the alias of Hoghead Inc. well after some games I started on, but couldn't find a programmer for (I only know HTML, and CSS; sorry) as well as the continuation of Project Leviathan.
Now you may be asking, "why are you telling me all this not at all boring crap that nobody cares about?" well I'm glad you didn't ask! The process of finalizing Project Leviathan has been in motion since 2012. The NeoGeo's long-lost Animal Mascot Platformer the system never got!
Ten Years later, I think that it is high time that I shown what I have created for the game...
This is Kayman. A caiman who awakens from a disaster that befell his home: Crocoisle. He's the main protagonist of the game (Player 1) it is up to the player(s) to guide him and his master: The Snake (Player 2) from Crocoisle, then cross the ocean to the Isle of Zarrd. The region known as the Rept-Isles has become a dead, decaying world with no hope but only the influence of the Gecko Empire and their mysterious king: Lizard Lord Zarrd! After venturing through the Gecko's homeland, the players reach Lizard Labyrinth: the capitol of Zarrd's Kingdom, ultimately leading up to the fateful battle against him.
This is all I have for now. Sadly, I can only upload one image for the time being. I wish that more could be seen, but for the time being that will do for now.
