Hello, my name is Greg; otherwise known as “Gecko1993”. Outside my interest in Gex The Gecko (my profile picture is evidenced by the fact) I am a fan of the SNK NeoGeo video game system (I own an AES, a CD and NeoGeo Pocket Color, and quite a few games for it—Metal Slug X is the crowning jewel of my game collection).
Now, some may have seen me in the exclusive Discord chat where I shown off my game I am currently working on. I’ll create a thread dedicated to it which details the game’s development history, and other aspects of the game. In the meantime, Hello everybody—I look forward to joining this community, and sharing this interest with other such people (unfortunate to see what has happened to NeoGeoForLife).
A few things I want to bring up: in my collection, I do have a couple things worthy of note.
1. I have a Japanese version of SVC Chaos for the NeoGeo AES; I am willing to trade it for an English copy if anybody is at-all interested.
2. I used to have the English version of Viewpoint in my NeoGeo AES collection; but my girlfriend’s kitty made it into his own personal scratching post—threfor I had to sell it. I’m hoping to one day get a copy of it for my collection once more.
3. I use a Top-Loading NeoGeo CD to play backups of my games on the AES. I burn backups, and potential music hacks for others to enjoy (coming soon). And for the comm record, I also use it as a developer’s system to test Project Leviathan out. For the time being, however, my CD’s laser is dead, and I can’t test. I’m resorting to emulation—the Pre-Alpha ROM will be available soon!
4. On my YouTube channel, I stream video games, review video games, and I also have done a 3-hour long documentary that details the history of SNK, and the NeoGeo video game system. You can check it out here: youtu.be/iX--Qp9U7_A?si=CTGYbPljOzvhsODH, and there is even a follow-up to said documentary: youtu.be/qeQrwPwQpDM?si=KZxTWU_qgl7Tu_Ta
5. Project Leviathan is mostly a one-man team. If anyone wants to help join in, to help make development go by faster—the offer is all mine! However, for the time being; on the side, my girlfriend’s little sister is helping with composing music (I’m moreso a remixer than I am a full-fledged composer).
