The NeoGeoForever Download section is now ready. I've been working on this for quite a while. I hope people like it. You can access it from the navigation bar at the top.

Most of this content was originally hosted at NeoGeoForLife. All the content is now hosted on MediaFire which I've always found to be a very reliable file host.

I used the 'inspect' feature of Google Chrome to check how the pages looked when viewed from various platforms. Should hopefully look ok for everyone now. If you notice anything that looks strange please let me know.

Just wanted to say a big thanks to Murikov and RiKo for their help. I got stuck a few times with html problems and RiKo explained things to me and gave other advice. I copied and pasted his page navigation system at the top and bottom. Murikov gave me some valuable feedback and created a downloads main menu template to which I added the images and text.

Also a big thanks go to AmigaJay, Cthulhu, Kuk and Meppi for their contributions and to Shito of neo-geo.com who paid for part of the cost of some of the Neo Geo Freak magazines I scanned.

I still have some of AmigaJay's content to add and also some AES inserts. Thinking of adding a separate NGCD section.

If anyone has scanned anything that would fit in this section and would like to contribute it that would be greatly appreciated. Please send me a pm. For scans of articles, reviews etc. please contact RiKo.

Just wanted to add something about the Neo Geo Freak Magazine scans. Recently someone else has been scanning these too. You can view their scans in your browser which many people would probably find preferable and there are multiple download options too. Perhaps my magazine scans are becoming a bit irrelevant. There are a few issues I've scanned which he hasn't got around to yet.

Thanks to everyone too who contributed content too.

I just want to mention - If anyone has any NGCD manuals it would be much appreciated if they could scan those in for the site too. We don't have any of those at the moment

Just off to download some more Neo Geo Freak magazines - Thanks to Googe Lens I can actually try to read them now rather than just look at the pics. It's amazing how much detail they go into on each game.

As I already mentioned, you solved this very smoothly.

It's great to have the manuals and magazines back for the public - slowly but steadily we grow back to former glory and hopefully will have many more good times here!

PS: What do you guys think about moving the "Magazine Scans" section from the navigation bar to the Downloads sections along the other three categories (as a new category such as "Other Magazines" or similarly)?

Cthulhu if you ever have spare time and don't mind doing some scanning that would be great. I'm happy to add anything you or anyone else scans.

Murikov thanks for the suggestion. Personally I'd prefer to keep the scans gallery and download section separate just like it was at NGFL. I will add more content soon and plan to add a few new categories to the downloads main menu. I'd prefer not to have the gallery section linked to on that same page.

I've been thinking about this and I think it's better to have a separate section for both. I think it makes the site more attractive to casual browsers having magazine scans AND a download section both visible separately. I remember on NG4L for a long time I was only interested in the magazine scans to start with and didn't care about the downloads (although I did much later when I wanted to read some NGF mags!) and the reverse could be true for someone else. So it's good to have both visible as separate sections I think.

Merlin & Murikov - I hope to use that cool menu format for the different categories in the magazine scan section in future (when I upload more scans, still have a lot more to do) if its ok with you guys? Looks really good!

RiKo I think that would be a good idea using the same style of menu.

One thing that impressed me was the long list of NGCD loading times by AmigaJay. Very useful for any NGCD owners deciding which games to buy.

I know he has a full set of those magazines iswy and plans to scan them all. My scans will then become a bit irrelevant. I expect many people would rather view the magazines in their browser than have to download a 100 MB file each time. I'll still keep them in the download section here because it took me many hours to scan them and also someone else paid for part of the cost of some of the magazines.

For me, archive.org is not very fast connection wise, and also there is no guarantee how long it may be kept. So i's always good to make mirrors, especially if it's rare stuff.

I hope, though, inside those magazine scans to get back those Pulstar artworks that were presented on japanese Pulstar/Blazing Star fansite that went offline (and webarchiveorg is, as often, incredibly bad at keeping images on site copies).
