This thread is for all things IGS and PGM (PolyGameMaster), the iconic Taiwan-based counterpart of SNK and the Neo Geo.

I literally just bought a pgm motherboard and two games last week 😂. This is a better option to get my hands one the Gladiator, Martial Masters, and Demon Front.

All of these games are pretty decent though. This is a steal!

Although I haven't played THESE KoV or OL games, the ones I have on the PGM2 is actually very good. Almost Capcom quality I'd say.

I'd give these a tryin your Pandoras Box if I were you tuxedomarty, even if they're not completely original, they're still better than some of the other arcade knock offs.

The only games that aren't great are the Oriental Legend games. They're not awful but they look like a store brand game. Especially the "spooky" version.

For the record, Oriental Legend 2 on the PGM 2 is an absolute banger, almost in the same league as Dungeons and Dragons by Capcom.

Oh for sure. Any game that's over an hour tends to feel like it's dragging on and on in the arcade. I still haven't even beat OL 2 myself becuase it just keeps going hahaha.

Oh boy, I remember OL2 being ridiculously long! I think it was so long that I didn't even finished it on the emulator, i.e. shelved it indefinitely à la "I'll continue that game some other day".

And that was maybe 7 years ago?!

I like Demon Front (and I even know those who prefer it over Metal Slug, haha), but also what's important for me is how PGM has absolutely amazing Cave shmups.

Can't say much about other stuff yet, but I'm sure there are some enjoyable games among them (I mean both PGM/PGM2 as "overall" topic).

I had all PGM beat em ups and also Oriental legend 2. The games are attractive with many bosses, cool environments with multiple paths and many colours. The only downside side is in their gameplay department. It can be a bit of a mess on screen quite often. Too many opponents and hit detection is a bit off. In my opinion if a Capcom beat em up is a 9 or 10/10, PGM games are 7 and 8/10. That said Demon Front is very close to Metal Slug though. It has very cool weapons and bosses. T-Rex boss is so memorable. Martial Masters has a great animation but its backgrounds are bland and look ugly with washed out colours. I don’t know about gameplay as I didn’t play it much.
As I have sold my original collection, I will definitely buy the Switch cart.

Yesh it's pretty cool but I haven't put much time into the game myself. The game has a lot of combos and different characters.

One day I'll pop it back in and give it some more time.

When this collection came out, the first thing that came to mind was, "Where was The Killing Blade?" It would have been great to have. Having Martial Masters on consoles though is great and I think I'll buy the collection. Plus I hard those Beat Em Ups are really good.
