Actually, I think that might be all of them now that I think about it. I used to also have X-Men: Children of the Atom and WWF In Your House, but I forgot to bring those with me when I relocated a few years back and I wish I hadn't forgotten.

I wish I had some of those game. I actually didn't know you could get Hexen for the Saturn, Or Crusader! I've seen those both on the PC. Are they good versions?

That's a shame about COTA. That's a good game. Marvel Super Heroes is an essential purchase too IMO!

I know exactly what you mean. I distinctly remember eagerly reading all the character bios for Mortal Kombat (Game Gear) in the car while waiting for my dad to finish making all his stops and bring me home. It's such a silly thing to remember, and yet somehow the memory stuck with me!

a good memory and yes that would be another classic occasion when you would read the manual - on the way back from the game shop NGFL_tup

It definitely added to the experience. Also back then, manuals were good, you would often learn things in them that you may not have found out otherwise - especially pre-internet

I got the latest compilation of add on games for Taito's Egret II Mini. Taito Arcade Memories Volume 2

It's great that they are still supporting it but the last 2 game packs have been Japan only. Also still no Chase HQ (one day... one day...)

I think it's worth getting - especially if you can find it for a low price now. The arcade controller and the spinner are pretty good - but the console-style pad feels cheap (so avoid that!)

The only real negative is some of the games had to be changed due to licencing issues (e.g. Rainbow Islands loses "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" tune as usual), but no doubt someone has found a way to get it to run original arcade roms.

Really they should designate games as art that can always be re-released in their original form (after a certain time has passed) without getting new licences. That would stop all this nonsense.

Man I loved reading the manual on the way home. Except King of the Monsters on SNES. I was so stoked to get that game, and then there was a suspicious lack of monsters in the manual 😐

Yeah the manuals are pretty great, I read them for console games also even if it's only like Metroid on the NES, they really did a lot to explain what you needed back then knowing you would probably need some help, esp pre-internet days. I think about old game magazines like gamepro also analyzing like the "learning curve" and that was the time when any individual game would be so unique there's a whole time estimate of just learning before you even really get to gaming. I think those old days were cool I like the possibility of having an entirely new system to understand rather than always knowing "oh well it's a platformer I know I need to go right" kind of gaming.

On topic well I did finally get Unicorn Overlord, and it's crazy that I happened to be playing this at the same time as Ogre Battle, because this game is incredibly Ogre Battle. That's good though, very unique strategy RPG that I kind of prefer to tactical RPG games by Quest in the 90s, even though I like those also.

Also based on this thread I'm so torn now about getting an Egret Mini next or something else, I know that Amazon supply will run out once people realize it's one of the cooler Minis.

I'm always at a loss when gamers complain about control schemes that don't immediately conform to whatever standard that's floating around in their skulls. "Read the manual, get used to the controls, then form your opinion." That's my take, anyway.

Yes I think it is a must-buy if you want an arcade mini. Feels so much nicer (higher quality) than the Neo Geo mini and you don't need to get 2-types like the Astro City minis. I imagine there will be a point where they will be selling them off very cheap so that could be the time to buy!

I bought a spare arcade controller just because I think those could be items they didn't make in larger numbers. I think the spinner/trackball will be limited too.

I recently got my MVS version of Cyborg Force. I splurged on the Collector's edition because "in for a penny in for a pound" when it comes to new MVS games.

The package and content are really nice and high quality. It came with a full art kit, soft dip settings sheet, and mini marquee. Honestly the marquee is my favorite, I don't know why but seeing the artwork/instructions light up on the cabinet is one of my favorite parts of the Neo Geo.

The cart itself is a little lighter than I would expect from an MVS cart, probably because of the smaller boards used on modern MVS carts, but it still rattles just like the originals! The shockbox also makes for a cool display piece. Additionally, there were a few other things a magnet, Cyborg Force t-shirt, a button, poster, and soundtrack that were all included. Altogether a really solid package and definitely a cool addition to the collection.

I FINALLY got around to getting a fight stick for the Xbox Series X. Overall, I'm pretty happy with this one, it's pretty decent so far. I can finally stop playing with a dumb controller.

It's a Hori Alpha and it was like $40 off on Gamefly, of all places.

I didn't even know this game had a Saturn port until sometime last month or so. This game is known in english as Quarantine, for the 3DO and PC. I remember an old issue of EGM2 back in early 1995 that reviewed the former of those two and thinking it looked interesting. Didn't get to actually play it until maybe about 12 years later when I downloaded the PC version from an abandonware site or somewhere else but then gave up because I had no idea what to do from what I remember and there was no music. But now that I have this Saturn version, I can try again and hopefully get more into it this time.

Well for the time it was pretty gory for a driving game.

And this was before stuff like Grand Theft Auto or Carmageddon had come to light. By today's standards it's probably pretty tame though.
