pimsbury You have good taste! I remember you saying in chat that Robotron was the only old arcade game you liked. It is a great game, one of those games that relies on pure shooting/movement skills with infinite possibilities to the gameplay. I also love the Williams graphics style because they use a blitter and bitmaps (rather than the normal sprites) so all the graphics break up into pieces and you get a lot more objects on screen. Looks really cool.

It's very interesting playing on a cab and seeing/feeling the difference in the experience. I will make a thread about it soon. I am probably the perfect person to notice because I've played it pretty much exclusively on my (original) Xbox connected to my TV up until now.

I have a friend that comes over every now and then and play on my cabinets. There's really no substitute especially for someone like yourself who likes authenticity and real hardware.

Playing emulated games on a console or PC just aren't the same.

I think the only games I can REALLY get into form the era are Robotron, MS Pacman, and Missile Command 👍.

Eeven playing Nintendo and PCengine are way cooler on a cabinet 😂. I've got a raspberry pi with a jamma connection for that.

I've always thought PC Engine games would look great on a cab. Especially the Gunhed/Blazing Lazers games. They could have been arcade games of that time or a bit earlier.

BTW you gave me a triple Missile Command coincidence, I read your post the day you wrote it and on that day I was reading a book (actually a very good book) about Missile Command and I happened to be watching Terminator 2 : Special Edition (I probably haven't watched that film in 20 years!). It might be in the original film too but John Connor is playing Missile Command in that and then you mentioned Missile Command too. That's got to be a rare occurrence!

Re-united with an old favorite of mine. I always loved this game. But I lost my copy I bought at FuncoLand back in 1998 so I went and bought it again. But this time I went the extra miles for a CIB copy.

I was playing a little Dark Adventure last night and it's pretty cool. The rom isn't working great though in my emulator so it would be nice to have a proper port!

Metamorphic Force is flippin amazing. Love that game!
