Heya dudes
Some people may recognize me from the old NGFL site, where I joined sometime in 2012 or so.
Originally I became acquainted with Neo Geo / SNK after playing Metal Slug on a pirated MVS cab somewhere in a small Costa Rican town in the early 2000s. A bit later in Switzerland I re-discovered the franchise with Metal Slug Advance on the GBA (which I still find a decent installment).
After Metal Slug I plunged into KoF and Street Fighter out of curiousity, and soon became addicted to the genre and franchises. As most people here, I started play the rest of the Neo Geo library on emulation (NeoRageX, Kawaks and later Mame). At some point I also intensively played those games on the MVSPSP emulator on my hacked PSP.
Then somewhere in 2012 I bought my AES along with some games with my first apprentice wage. Nonetheless to say, it was quite an investment back then, but still a lot more reasonable compared with today's joke prices. I still own all these AES games and I'm happy I still kept them until now.
Nowadays I have it plugged in into my cheapo 65" TV with an OSSC, which works flawlessy without any noticeable input lags (unlike the much talked about Framemeister). I meanwhile own a Neo SD Pro which I use to play my favorite 2P games whenever my brother or friends come to visit me.
I still can't say no to a good round of KoF '95, '98, '02, Last Blade, Windjammers or Money Puzzle Exchanger. If I play solo, I rather enjoy the good old Shmups such as Last Resort or Pulstar.
Otherwise I rather focused on PC gaming the recent years. In my private life I have since finished some college, got an OK job in IT consulting and since 2014 also became a backpacking / travel addict - pretty much my biggest passion outside gaming.
Glad to see this place resurfacing - a big THANK YOU to Merlin and Riko for resurrecting the site and even getting the core of the members back! I'm looking forward to many interesting discussions here!
